Ethan Hawke stars in this horror thriller directed by Scott Derrickson. In the 1970s, five children went missing from a small town in Colorado. A short time later, 13-year-old Finney Shaw (Mason Thames) is kidnapped and held prisoner in a soundproofed basement.
With no knowledge of where he is or how he can get out, he discovers a disconnected telephone through which he can hear the voices of the five missing children, the killer's previous victims, who want to help him escape. Meanwhile, his sister Gwen (Madeleine McGraw) starts having recurring visions that might help her find Finney.
